Buon Natale from Travel at your Leisure. It seemed a crime not to upload a picture of one of the MANY nativity scenes that we saw in Naples this year. This one is from the Royal Palace of Caserta. Notable mention should also be made of the Certosa di San Martino on the hill in Naples and the Royal Palace of Naples as well.

Travel at Your Leisure loves Venice, it is such a special place. It doesn't matter how many times you visit "La Serenissima", just when you think you might be getting used to it another surprise comes out from under a bridge. We know that they must have delivery vehicles just like the rest of the world, but somehow this motor boat delivering flowers and plants still seems more romantic than a delivery van from the garden shop here at home.
Join Travel at Your Leisure in Northern Italy in September 2016 and let La Serenissima seduce you too.
Burano has to be seen to be believed, no photos will really do it justice. Travel at Your Leisure spent an afternoon here in May, eating seafood at the fabulous Gatto Nero restaurant, drinking in the colour of the houses and learning a little bit about the craft of lace making, for which the island is famous.
Join Travel at Your Leisure on our Food and Wine, Art and Architecture tour in September next year and see what all the fuss is about.
Travel at Your Leisure are returning to The Veneto in September 2016.
We all loved it so much this year and here are just a few reasons why ...
Travel at Your Leisure - Amazing Amalfi spent a fascinating day in Minturnae and Sessa Arrunca, just north of Naples. Our guide Luigi, a Professor of Archaeology, showed us around the seemingly forgotten site of Minturnae. Having already visited Pompeii with its massive footprint and crowds to match, Minturnae offered a much more intimate and in depth look at everyday life in Roman Italy. With its beautifully preserved theatre, which has perfect acoustics, as well as the remains of the defensive castle, forum, baths and much more, it was a really special experience. Please check out the website below for more information on Minturnae.
Our guru Luigi, was incredibly knowledgable, not to mention charming and we were all very appreciative of his time and tolerance. However, one of the best parts of the day came when we all packed up to move on to the next site - Sessa Arunca - and our trusted Archaeological guru jumped into his own vehicle to lead the way. Can you pick the Archaeologist's preferred mode of transport? It's not too hard is it?
