Although quite a different experience to attending La Scala or La Fenice, a night at the opera at the Arena in Verona would be equally memorable.
The elliptical shape of the Arena, in fact a Roman amphitheatre, produces perfect acoustics from every stand point. Built in the 1st century A.D. and still in use today it is internationally famous for the large-scale opera performances given there.
It really is a great experience to see one of the great operas of the season, maybe Aida or Tosca, or even Romeo and Juliet under the stars on a summer night.
